Evil Times PDF Print E-mail

We live in evil times as the Apostle Paul predicted in 2 Timothy 3. Men generally do not have a love for the truth or the God who gave it. In these first articles we are trying to establish the fact that we need the truth and how important the truth is to our souls. If we do not have a very strong love for the truth we will fall for the lies of the Devil.

Satan is the “father of lies” (John 8:44). He lied to Eve in the beginning and caused the downfall of mankind (Genesis 3). Satan changed ONE word of what God said and turned the truth of God into a lie. That is all it takes, my friends! Just one word added or taken away will change the truth into a lie. This is a very serious point. Please understand we are trying to show what is happening in our world today.

Do You Love God? PDF Print E-mail

There is no doubt that love is at the core of a righteous man. At the heart of who we are and what we do is shown by how pure our love is. Jesus plainly said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” (John 14:15 NAS) It is that simple.

It is easy to say, “I love the Lord.” The proof of love is in doing what the Lord said! Obviously, if we don’t love the Lord we won’t obey Him. These points are just too simple to miss. How do parents know if their children love them? By observing if they obey them.

If we are a child of God, we will be obedient to God. When our earthly parents give us instructions to obey, it is a simple thing to measure our love for them by whether we are OBEDIENT to them or not. The same example holds true for God.

We have been discussing the value of the truth in these first issues and how important truth is to our souls. Without the truth we are doomed to wander in sin and our end will be eternal separation from God. My aim in these articles is:

To show the Bible as the only source for our authority in religion; our only way back to God. The Bible is the word of God and God alone knows what He wants man to do in order to please Him. God has spoken and revealed His mind to mankind and it is up to man to listen to, and obey, what God has said in His Holy Word.

The Bible: The Word of God PDF Print E-mail

The book we call the Bible came from God. The Bible says, “All scripture is inspired by God…” (2 Timothy 3:16). The word inspired means “God breathed.”  That verse goes on to tell us we have all we need to know in order to live acceptably before God. Any other book teaching any other message will only confuse and lead you away from God.

No book written by men can compare to the Bible. Here are some facts about the Bible:

The Simplicity of the Gospel PDF Print E-mail

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 2:3)

God’s word is really not hard to understand. The Bible is written in such simple language that men must have help in misunderstanding it.

If I should teach that 2 + 2 = 3 or 5 you would laugh at me. This example is so simple that a first grader would not misunderstand it.

But, if I should teach that Faith + Baptism = Salvation, I would hear a roar of protest from most of the religious world and they would say that I was wrong! But this is the truth just as 2 + 2 = 4 and not 3 or 5.
